Thursday, September 15
6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Join Legacy Estate & Elder Law of Louisiana in their effort to
raise $5,000 for Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area!
What is the event for?
Each year, our firm participates in Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area’s annual fundraiser, the Walk to Remember. This year, prior to the walk, we are “Alley-Ooping on Alzheimer’s” with an arcade basketball tournament, and we want you on our team! However, this is also a party open to all – even if you don’t want to shoot hoops!
How does the tournament work?
Teams of two (2) can sign up to play arcade style basketball (think Chuck E. Cheese or state fair-style basketball games) and compete against other teams for a chance to win one of our three Grand Prizes.
Does it cost anything to join the tournament?
To participate in the basketball tournament, the cost is a donation of at least $100 to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area (to be made to the Alley-Ooping on Alzheimer’s team page. See directions below!) This donation gets you 2 Alley-Ooping on Alzheimer’s t-shirts, food and drinks at the event, entry to the tournament for 2 participants, and a chance to win one of 3 Grand Prizes.
In order to make sure your donation goes to the right place, and we get the info we need for the tournament, please fill out the RSVP form below and you will be emailed a link to make your donation directly to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area’s Alley-Ooping on Alzheimer’s team page.
Do I have to play basketball or can I just come hang out?
You do not have to play ball, and we encourage everyone to come hang out and cheer on their favorite team! There is no charge to attend, but we will have donation boxes set up if you’d like to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association while there. The more, the merrier! There will also be free kids’ games. So, come join the fun and start your weekend off early! And to help us get a better idea of how many people to expect, please fill out the RSVP form below!
I can’t make it that day. Are there other opportunities or ways to get involved?
Yes! There are two other ways to get involved. You can still make a donation to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area through our team, Alley-Ooping on Alzheimer’s, or you can attend the Walk to Remember on Saturday, October 15th at 9 AM and walk with our team or come hang out at the Memory Market where we will have a booth set up. Fill out the RSVP form below for more information on the Walk to Remember and joining our team!
I have another question you didn’t cover or I’m confused about how to sign up.
Please call Sara Bingham at (225) 324-9833 or send her an email at sara@legacycenterla.com and she will get back with you ASAP.
