Estate Planning, Probate & Elder Law Attorney
A growing estate planning, elder law and probate firm based in Baton Rouge is seeking an Associate Attorney with 0–3 years of experience to join our team.

We are a growing estate planning, elder law and probate firm based in Baton Rouge — currently with satellite offices in New Orleans and Lake Charles — committed to the highest standards of client care. We are seeking an Associate Attorney with 0–3 years of experience to join our team in our Baton Rouge office.

Practice Support Specialist
A client-facing, operations-focused role at the heart of our firm — the voice and first face that clients often see when they come through our doors.
About the Role
Are you seeking a career where you are constantly challenged to improve yourself and your job skills? The Practice Support Specialist plays a vital role in creating a stellar first impression of Legacy as the voice and first face that others often see of the firm, and in assisting the team with efficient operations. The ideal candidate has a warm personality, is energetic, highly professional, and team-oriented, with excellent verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Loves to work with people, particularly elderly people
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word; able to learn other software quickly
- Strong background in customer service
- Own transportation and a good driving record
- Stable and reliable
Client Intake & Document Coordination
- Gathers information from clients using office checklists to prepare legal documents
- Coordinates with clients and others regarding information needed to complete documents
- Assists paralegal with filing and recording documents with Clerks of Court; follows up on status
- Files documents into legal files and keeps files indexed and organized
- Opens and closes matters according to procedures; ensures files are organized before closing
- Copies documents and prepares estate planning portfolios for delivery to clients
- Confirms appointments for following day's open files
- Greets guests, announces their arrival, and offers coffee and other drinks
- Acts as a witness on document signings on an as-needed basis
- Participates in law firm meetings and offers input into operations and procedures
Office Management
- Maintains office machine supply levels
- Answers incoming calls, routes to appropriate person or places on calendar for return
- Keeps reception area, lobby, conference room, kitchen and supply closet neat and organized at all times
- Runs errands to post office, bank and courthouse as needed; opens and distributes mail
- Creates daily mail log for legal files; sorts and delivers mail to appropriate person
- Coordinates with remote personnel to complete tasks such as printing and mailing
- Assists in setup of weekly workshop presentations
- Acts as "front of house" for the firm, ensuring office is presentable and ready for clients
Requirements
Prior office experience of at least two years is required, with a preference for those with legal experience. Post-high school education also required. Non-smoking environment.
